A contemporary Bulgarian painter and lithographer, Stoilov was born in Varna, Bulgaria, in 1944 and grew up on the coast of the Black Sea. He graduated from that country's Academy of Fine Arts and is now a resident of Vienna, Austria. His works are exhibited in many public and private collections throughout the world, and they display a paradoxically futuristic interpretation of the mysticism and mythology appropriate to both eastern and western Europe.
