Olexandr Melnykov is born in 1959, near Moscow. He has a degree from the Odessa Art School and from the National Art Academy of Kiev. Oleksandr Melnykov participated to many exhibitions : Geneva ( Switzerland) , Marseille (France), Francfort ( Germany ) . He is a member of the Ukrainian National Union of painters

He is inspired by history and faces. In each composition, there is a precise logic in looks, gestures and poses. All this creates a sensation of movement in faces , just like a slow madrigal dance.
